Friends banner - suggestions?

Okay, I was in the middle of creating a banner for our forums, to replace the "illusion" we currently have up top, I had to uninstall + reinstall my PS because it was acting stupid (thanks to my computer no doubt =p) Anyways, I lost some detail in the process, so it looks pretty plain, if anyone has any suggestions, please, go ahead =]

Old, what were the suggestions you made font wise? I'm going to make the color mimic our current forum and probably change the boarder to something not so futuristic.

i think it might work with the background, with some proper colours

Okay, i'll start working on it in a few days, I have a myspace layout i have to do real quick for my lady lol.
